AuthorVoices.ai Terms and Conditions
The site-specific terms that govern your use of AuthorVoices.ai.
Last updated: April 25, 2026
1. Scope
These site-specific Terms apply to your use of AuthorVoices.ai and incorporate the Archieboy Master Terms by reference. By using AuthorVoices.ai, you agree to both these site-specific Terms and the Master Terms. Where a conflict exists, these site-specific Terms control for AuthorVoices.ai.
2. Voice cloning — rights and consent
If you create a cloned narrator voice, you represent and warrant that either (a) the voice is your own, or (b) you have written, informed consent from the natural person whose voice it is, including consent to commercial use of that voice in audiobooks.
You may not clone or attempt to clone:
- The voice of any public figure, celebrity, politician, voice actor, or other identifiable third party without that person’s signed consent.
- Any voice for the purpose of impersonation, defamation, fraud, harassment, deepfake creation, or sexually explicit content depicting a real person.
- Any voice belonging to a minor.
You are solely responsible for any claim arising from a cloned voice you upload, and you agree to indemnify Archieboy for any such claim per Master Terms § 15.
3. Your manuscript content
You retain ownership of any manuscript, text, or audio you upload. You grant us the limited license described in Master Terms § 4 to convert your content into audio and deliver it back to you. We do not use your manuscripts to train AI models.
4. AI narration — retailer policies are your responsibility
Audio produced by AuthorVoices is generated by AI text-to-speech models. Retailer and distributor policies regarding AI-generated narration vary, change without notice, and may require disclosure or outright prohibit AI narration produced by third-party tools. You are responsible for understanding and complying with the AI-narration policy of every retailer, distributor, or platform where you intend to publish. This includes, but is not limited to, Audible, ACX, Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play Books, Kobo, Spotify, Findaway Voices, and aggregators.
Specifically — and as of the date of these Terms — Audible, ACX, and Amazon do not accept AI-narrated audiobooks produced by third-party tools such as AuthorVoices. They permit only their own in-house AI narration tools (where offered). Do not submit AuthorVoices audio to ACX or Audible. Doing so violates their content policy and may result in your retailer account being closed.
We make no representation that audio produced by AuthorVoices will be accepted by any specific retailer. Archieboy is not liable if a retailer or distributor rejects, removes, delists, or refuses to accept your audiobook on the grounds that it is AI-narrated, was produced by a third-party AI tool, lacks required disclosure, or for any related reason.
5. Credits
Credits are denominated in characters, not minutes. Hour estimates shown in the interface (approximately 50,000 characters per hour of finished audio) are estimates only. Credits are deducted as audio is generated. Credits are non-refundable once spent. Unspent credit balances do not expire under normal policy, but may be forfeited if your account is terminated for breach of these Terms or the Master Terms.
6. Voice clone retention
A cloned voice created without any credit-pack purchase is retained for approximately 24 hours and then automatically deleted. Once deleted, a cloned voice cannot be recovered — you must re-upload a voice sample to create a new clone. Purchasing any credit pack preserves your clones indefinitely while your account remains in good standing.
7. Distribution Ready Tool
The Distribution Ready Tool reformats audio files you provide so that the file specifications (bitrate, sample rate, RMS, peak, noise floor) meet ACX delivery requirements. Reformatting does not change the underlying narration. If you submit AI-generated audio — whether produced by AuthorVoices or any other tool — through the Distribution Ready Tool, the resulting file is still AI-narrated audio and remains subject to the retailer-policy restrictions in § 4. Processed files are auto-deleted approximately 6 hours after processing; download promptly.
8. Output ownership and use
Audio you generate using your own cloned voice is yours to use and distribute, subject to § 2.
Audio you generate using a curated narrator voice is licensed to you for end-use distribution as part of your audiobook. You may not extract, isolate, sample, or repurpose the underlying voice characteristics; train any AI model on AuthorVoices output; or use AuthorVoices output to create derivative voice models, voice fonts, or new AI generations outside the Service.
9. Everything else
All other terms — eligibility, payment processing, refund rules for one-time purchases, account termination, intellectual property, DMCA, disclaimers of warranty, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — are governed by the Archieboy Master Terms.
